The modern Bitzer semi-hermetic screw compressor forms the
basis Lennox screw chiller. This has been specially designed for the air conditioning use. Features of these screw compressors are:

- The automatic control for adjusting capacity under operating conditions that differs from the design value.
- The high efficiency of the suction cooled gas electric motor.
- Capacity regulation for partial load, which also provides no start up current.
